Tunnels Beaches

With a wonderful history, Tunnels Beaches is a glorious place to take the family. Its picturesque location is second to none, and with an amazing tidal pool, your never far from the sea, whatever stage the tide is at. Tunnels Beaches get its name from the four hand carved tunnels that start in the hillside and lead down to the beach (these tunnels are still open to the public). Tunnels Beaches is a Blue Flag beach and was voted the third best beach for rock pooling in the UK. Off the beach, you can visit the original wood burning pump house that provided hot and cold sea water baths and kids under 10 can play in The Play Hut, an indoor soft play centre. And for the adventurous, hire kayaks to paddle around on the water (£10 per hour).
